Animation films are often put together with such a combination of enthusiasm and creativity that they strike a chord with both young and old. And if that animation film is about climbing a mountain, then how could the DMFF ignore it? In The Great Milestone, or its original Spanish title of El Gran Hito, the female protagonist is kept waiting while her husband returns from an exciting mountain adventure. In her impatience, she takes off in the company of two gentlemen to scale a mountain. The fact that she reaches the top is less inspiring than all the fabulous details along the way that Ignasi López Fàbregas weaves into the story.
